An Equivalent Rotor Speed Compensation Control of PMSG-Based Wind Turbines for Frequency Support in Islanded Microgrids

Frequency regulation is a critical issue in the islanded microgrids, especially integration of high penetration wind power generator. In order to provide inertial and primary frequency support system, this article proposes an equivalent rotor speed compensation control scheme PMSG for microgrids. A new variable combining pitch angle defined as speed. The versus de-loaded curve designed preserve part active among whole area. And inertia optimized by adding virtual obtain reference machine-side converter loop. Adopting proposed scheme, PMSG-based turbine can achieve similar performance synchronous generators. Simulation results demonstrate feasibility effectiveness scheme.
